Deer Valley targets a December 5, 2026 opening and has grown to 4,500 skiable acres. Park City Mountain targets November 20, 2026. Salt Lake City International Airport is about 35 minutes away.

Steps from the Gondola: Deer Valley Lodging in East Village

The best Deer Valley lodging puts you on the snow without a drive, a parking hunt or a long walk in ski boots. At Pioche Village, the Jordanelle Express Gondola is just across the parking lot. It carries you to mid-mountain, where beginner, intermediate and advanced runs branch out across Deer Valley Resort.
Pioche Village was the first all-suite property completed in Deer Valley East Village, the resort's new eastern base. That location matters more each season. Deer Valley's expansion has more than doubled its skiable terrain, and resort lift-scan data shows a growing share of skiers now start their day at East Village.

What's New at Deer Valley Resort for 2026–27

Deer Valley Resort opens Hail Peak this winter, adding 200 acres and bringing the resort to 4,500 skiable acres. Most of the new terrain is reached from East Village, right outside Pioche Village.

Two things are still under construction. The East Village Lodge (ski school, rentals, food hall) and the on-mountain Park Peak Lodge are both slated for the 2027–28 season, so plan on temporary skier services at East Village this winter.

Deer Valley's projected opening day is December 5, 2026, weather permitting. Deer Valley is also on the Ikon Pass.

Two Mountains, One Base: Park City Mountain Access

Staying at Pioche Village doesn't limit you to one resort. Park City Mountain, the largest ski resort in the U.S. by acreage, is a short drive away, so you can split a ski vacation between two very different mountains. 

Park City Mountain targets November 20, 2026 for opening day, about two weeks before Deer Valley. Early-season visitors can ski Park City Mountain first, then move over to Deer Valley once it opens. Park City Mountain is on the Epic Pass; Deer Valley is on the Ikon Pass.
